tired: a bone is thrown upward, as it falls the scene cuts to a space vehicle

wired: a bone is thrown upward, as it falls the bone becomes a telephone receiver, which is caught by Spitting Image puppet Phil Collins, who then sings into it, "I won't be coming home tonight,"

@jk I was watching that exact same video just a few hours ago ๐Ÿ˜†

I'd always thought the phone was a BT payphone (private rented) but push button sets weren't often provided here until the late 80s

It turns out to be a Western Electric 2851 used on the 1A2 multiline key system popular in the USA for many years (BT did provide keysystems but they were completely different designs including one that was basically a giant 700 series phone with loads of buttons)

@vfrmedia i THINK the video may have been shot in the US, apparently it was an American production company based in LA, so it would make sense!

@jk PS: I had intended to properly credit Doug KA2WFT (a USA #radioamateur and collector of #telephones), but my VDSL started acting up and put me offline for a bit so I got distracted switching between the usual WLAN and the LTE hotspot on my work phone (by which time the VDSL service was back).

So I can fully understand why folk still collect and restore old #telecoms equipment and/or use amateur radio ๐Ÿ˜†
