@thomasmost Is that the thing that mines bitcoins in the browser? Absolutely not. Waste of people's CPU cycles/battery power. I've got a Patreon, that's enough.

@Gargron Yeah, it is... and I'll grant you it's super sketchy to use without people's permission. But you shouldn't dismiss it out of hand; they have some cool features

@Gargron Like, you can turn down the percentage used by the miner to like 25% if you want -- they also have a Captcha option that performs hashing. I feel like if you're upfront with people about it, people would be happy to pay with their CPU

@Gargron That said, *totally* respect your choice to not. Just been occupying my mind. Joined yesterday and spent a lot of today reading about Mastodon instances and pricing models when I should've been working 😅
