I've been told you have to *seperately sign up with a new @* for every single instance you want to add to your not-Tweetdeck.... in another tab!!! So I guess I'll stay rooted here for now and NOT try out a few like you would on Dischord / Reddit / any other site designed like this one. Price of individual moderation - I guess?
@jendamcglynn It's so frustrating and I think also massive potential for abuse.
@SchneidRemarks A user recommended the mobile app as an easy way to swop between accounts. I guess it's because every instance has different allowable content and rules (?) but I thought you'd choose a 'home' instance where your Toots (ugh, haha) would show, and then be able to add others as secondary feeds, in effect. Why should I need 5 separate accounts if I have 5 separate hobby/interest groups across 5 tabs?! Super unwieldy way to navigate.
@jendamcglynn Yeah, exactly! And it actually destroys that crossover potential/chance to accidentally discover new things that I liked about Twitter.
@SchneidRemarks Double-edged sword as well that! Even the Discord method of channels being fully seperated from one another but still accessible from a centralised hub is preferable. I guess this is like someone complaining about 140 characters in 2009, it'll soon be the defining characteristic thru which we view it as unique.
@jendamcglynn If I don't stream games or don't care about people streaming games, will I care about Discord?
@SchneidRemarks I know there are comic book discussion specific channels on there, TBH I mostly use it as a live chatroom that players from my favourite mobile game use to shoot to breeze; no streaming involved.
