I hurt so much that I can't stand or walk without falling to the ground or into walls & furniture but I am so desperately hungry. I just want something to eat but there's no way I can stand to cook. If I don't eat soon I'm going to be sick.
@laurenstaggs Do you have any friends or family you can call? A neighbour? anyone?
@maloki I have no one :( my mom and I moved to the city and my entire support system lives an hour away. My mom is at work. Even if someone got food ordered for me it would be difficult to get to the door to accept it.
@laurenstaggs Ugh :( may I ask what kind of pain it is? (I get my bouts with my own chronic pain, and it keeps moving around like a b*tch ..
@maloki Doctors aren't 100% on diagnosis yet, but we are thinking probably MS. We know there is spinal degeneration, & I have a ton of symptoms including visual issues, my MRI is scheduled for the 23rd for brain & full spine. My mother has RA & Lupus. I've been struggling to get a diagnosis for about 6 months. 6 or 7 ER visits :(
@laurenstaggs Ugh :( I'm really sorry to hear that. (seems we dropped the CW).
Mine is "only" related to my Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and one of the symptoms is "pain which has no apparent reason and moves around in the body" ...
I guess with the pain you can't really go for a nap either? Napping can help you through a few hours of pain..
I want to give you like a ton of tips, but I do not know if they are welcome
@maloki Oops! Yes, still getting used to this site setup. 😅
I am always willing to hear advice, it is just hard without a dx to know what things could do more damage than good. I was in physical therapy a few months ago, and they ended my case because it was doing more damage and worsening my range of motion. :(
@laurenstaggs the tips was going to be revolving around food.
Like, when your mom leaves for work, make sure there's fruit, and meal replacement bars within each, if you can eat them.
Also small bags of nuts and raisins, are great! Especially if you can afford to buy bigger bags, but then make small "portion size" bags.
And always have an extra bottle of water near the bed (or where you're at during the day).
It'll need to be some work in progress, probably. But maybe it can help
@laurenstaggs help avoid situations like this in the future. I realize this doesn't help right now... 🙁
@maloki Sorry for the late reply! Thank you :) I drink lots of water. Did not consider those snacks though, Chex mix might help a lot in an emergency!
@laurenstaggs Yeah, just set up some emergency stashes around your usual hangouts. And it can save the day, when you have a bad day. :)
As for cooking, we also tend to have certain frozen food which we can just throw into the oven, and let cook on it's own when we don't have energy to cook.
