It may be useful to include in the post what the event shall consist of/what topics are likely to be discussed. Not to rigidly define the participant behavior but to set expectations?
@twryst I'm happy to leave it completely open - no pressure, no expectations, no fitting in. That is one of the beautiful things that makes this space different. There is a gentle respect for unique perspectives.
Wouldn't it be interesting if a whole different community used the hashtag? Kind of like how the ed-tech people did in the first place? :)

So. I am officially in for #mastoparle.
I'm officially weird about my emotions concerning the thing because (a) I REALLY want to encourage more people to use this space for these kind of conversations and (b) I REALLY don't want to lose the intimacy that makes these conversations so powerful.
Having success on this platform that makes the latter fears real is kind of what we WANT, though. @lauraritchie @twryst @katebowles @Tdorey @fgraver @econproph @clhendricksbc
This is a great platform for conversation, far better than any other social media I've dealt with before (although there was a moment about 2009 when I thought FB could do that well, but that's another story). I'd LOVE for more people to take advantage of that. #mastoparle seems to be a mechanism to promote that.

@ShorterPearson I agree completely. I have a strong urge to make sure the door is open - change is always tricky, but growth is symptomatic of life. -I doubt my little post will go very far - I don't command that kind of reach... maybe 20 people will read it, but the invitation is out there. And maybe a couple will stop by? I think the ones who come will do so because they genuinely want to - it's not much of a spectacle show here @twryst @katebowles @Tdorey @fgraver @econproph @clhendricksbc
