I have very heavy nyctophobia when I'm alone in a room, which makes sleeping without at least a desk light on difficult.
But of course the desk light makes me sleep poorly so I wake up more readily with it on.
Catch-22.
The real solution is to just always sleep WITH someone, of course.
@Moa Tried a dim red light? Easy on the eyes and still a light
@ThatDamnCat I have, it's actually WORSE haha. Sets off my paranoia
@Moa Ah. Sorry to hear. My daughter likes sleeping with a lava lamp. It makes her happy to look at when she wakes in the night
@ThatDamnCat now that you mention it I did have a green lava lamp that worked well perhaps I should try that again. Thanks!
@Moa I wish you all luck and happy lava
@Moa Low intensity ambient lighting usually helps tremendously. Stuff that casts onto the wall. Cheap LED strips mounted on the back of furniture works wonders on keeping the room visible but cozy and non-wakeful.
@esdin I'll have to look into this!
