The next person to say "Not all are men are..." is getting slapped ! Like cool you are decent human being but unless you are actively doing your part to combat the oppressive systems that you benefit off of don't @ me when I point out the problems. Because rather than figuring out of trying to fix it you are making it about you which is why I didn't stutter when I said men are trash ! I said it for a reason and don't need to justify myself
@tamallez oh god please don't tell me there are #notallmen types on here
@nev nah we are safe on here just got into a fight with one of friends over the topic and needed to rant lol
@tamallez massive sigh of relief, p. s. sorry about your friends
@nev eh its all good. Thanks though !
@tamallez it's the same when white people just say they're better and better but won't recognize that awful aspect that is called whiteness and that manifestations of so.
@MilesBJordan exactly which makes it harder to have an actual conversation about the problem because they are looking at it from such a narrow frame work making it near impossible to analyze and critique
@tamallez yup. I was having a conversation with one of my friend's girlfriends about capitalism. She's a capitalist from Detroit. And she could- or was unwilling to- recognize how whiteness is not necessarily white people- though for the vast majority it is. The problem with that is that it's protecting white people and won't have any critique at all.
@MilesBJordan see those are the worst conversations to have I had to do it with one of friends date he literally would use every loop hole he could think of to avoid talking about the subject of whiteness and how its used a tool in many of the functioning systems today . Homeboy and I debated for 4 hours straight 😂😂
@tamallez aware of the vast number of ways in which they benefit from misogyny in our society, but damn do they
@tamallez (slap totally earned)
@joshg slap will be withheld but I like the way you put the warning though !
but I feel like regardless if they are fully aware of it they know of it enough in their day to day interactions to see its impacts

@tamallez I want to agree with you, but I feel less confident that guys will see beyond their own problems. That toxic masculinity doesn't do much to encourage empathy. 😒

We *can* do it and *should* be held accountable though!
