Mastodon not being monetized means social media is democratizing platforms of information again. And that's wonderful.

@the_radalex I'd personally go further and suggest that profit-driven social media platforms become methods of control. Information control in social structures is an important component of how the structure is organized. The tools and services we use, what they allow us to do, impacts the dynamics of we socially organize. I'd extend this to software in general.
