@dixongexpat not that any of these ideas generalize very well to people less comfortable with shell scripts and hosting providers, but i sort of hope that distributed / federated sharing of this sort of thing will emerge.
for example maybe something like an https://ipfs.io/ backing store with some simple interface tools could be a flickr replacement.
