@tinker I understand that's where the mindset comes from, and you'll always have those who will take advantage of a system, but I'd like to think that by and large people want to be productive and actually do more than leech off others.

Hardship can also be a trap you can never escape, especially financially. You can work harder and longer than everyone else and still be no better off. Luck has a lot to do with these things.

@tinker I think a lot of it has to do with a lack of empathy as @allan mentioned. Not lack of empathy in a malicious way but just an inability to truly understand what it's like to be effectively trapped in a shitty situation.

If you could do a freaky friday type switch between some upper middle class person and someone working 80 hrs/week and just scraping by maybe people would understand a bit more. I dunno 🤷
