Been struggling with exhaustion lately. Not sure if it's the long winter, lack of a pressing emergency or my d*#m thyroid. But today I noticed that both my apple tree and ornamental cherry were filling my windows with blooms. A little delayed, but seemingly more vibrant than in other years. Hoping that after a good period of rest I too will burst back to life.

@Tdorey In front of my window is a salvia I planted expecting it to be about a metre high. All year it grows taller and taller, easily three metres, but only leaves and stalks. It's so big its own weight causes it to fall over and snap in the wind. It blocks the window and the drive way, broken and untidy. I have to park in the road. Everyone says "Maybe cut it back?"
Then suddenly it flowers, wildly beautiful, for two weeks.
When it's done I cut it back hard and we start again.

@katebowles It's beautiful! And stubborn enough to start again. And again. (And again?)

Thanks Kate.

@Tdorey Gardening teaches me continually that things can seem to be in bad shape, but actually be ready to flourish. Also, that I have no idea where to plant things.
