Would you recommend me a fragmented novel (without a plot) or a novel which structure is dominated by typography?

@K2 I could answer ”no, I wouldn't”, because they are pretty tricky and usually fail.

But I could also recommend you Bats of The Republic by Zachary Thomas Dodson. It has a plot, but it also employs several different typographical tricks. The story takes place in the past and in a future, and there's some kind of dystopic future which doesn't employ fire or electricity.

After your recommendation I read a few reviews and it looks like you knew exactly what I was looking for. It's now on my wish list.

@K2 Heh, I should add (because I was a bit unclear in my previous toot), that I really meant that *writing* such books well is tricky business, and that's why they so often fail as works.
