Straight up espresso shots today, out of my favorite cups. ☕ #showmeyourcoffee https://foo.sx/media/mWRS6esyFCPWRRTtTKM
@fred Nice. Who makes the cups & where did you get them? What #espresso machine & grinder do you have?
@SlowRain thanks! They are Bialetti branded, not sure if they're official. Bought them in a small hardware store in Tuscany. Espresso out of my Breville BES870 ☕
@fred Where do you buy your beans?

@SlowRain hehe local coffee roasters in Portland!

How about you, how are you making your coffee?

@fred I do #KalitaWave, #Aeropress, #HarioV60, #FrenchPress, & #espresso with a #LaPavoni. My grinders are a #Pharos & a #Lido 2 from #OrphanEspresso. I roast my own #coffee on a #QuestM3, but I'm not as good as a good professional roaster, just cheaper.

#Portland should have some pretty good local roasters. Has there been any change in #Stumptown after their acquisition?

@SlowRain which La Pavoni?

Stumptown isn't bad but has certainly outgrown its small scale appeal. I prefer the smaller places here, but I do think Stumptown is the best coffee at PDX airport for instance.

@fred It's a PRH. Here's a link to a pic I took on Mastodon.

Has there been a drop-off in quality at #Stumptown since they were bought out?

#Portland #espresso tends to be brighter, doesn't it?

@SlowRain brighter espresso sounds about right. And I don't think much of a quality dropoff, just move production at scale, which in my opinion makes the coffee less exciting (like how homogenized organic supermarket milk is still good milk but not the same as small batch milk from the farmer)
@fred So long as the quality & ethics are there.
