I seldom go out for #coffee anymore (b/c it's quite expensive here), but I was out & had time to kill this afternoon. The coffee is from #Ethiopia, & it was brewed on a #Kono #siphon (aka #vacpot). The #cafe was Sweet Cafe in #Taichung, #Taiwan. (It's the same place I buy my green beans for roasting.)

@SlowRain Hello! My first #showmeyourcoffee entry. Homemade Turkish #coffee , blend of Arabica and Robusta. ☺ https://social.tchncs.de/media/-5ev1hwmvdptr7XzPMM
@MiaG @SlowRain that looks great! It has been so long since I last had robusta beans, cool! ☕
@soapdog @MiaG It's been a long time since I've made #TurkishCoffee. I have a beat-up #Sozen grinder & a #cezve here. If the weather isn't too hot on Sunday, I may make some #Turkish #coffee.
@soapdog @SlowRain https://social.tchncs.de/media/ZoBb6dZG7uED9KzVtM4 Me too, I drink it rarely. I usually drink coffee in caffes since I am far from home most of the day.

@MiaG Nice grinder. What brand is it? (I'll have to polish mine a bit before I dare post a picture.)

I didn't make #TurkishCoffee at all this winter. I don't do it often, maybe once or twice a year. I'm not sure if it's my beans, my roasting, or my method, but I just don't get excited over it.

@SlowRain It's not branded.☺ Turkish coffee is served here at any time of the day. 😑 I hate when somebody asks me if I wanted to drink it at 10 p.m. (I live in Belgrade, but that is habitual all over Balkan)
@MiaG What's your recipe for #TurkishCoffee?
@SlowRain Pour water into a cup first, to measure the amount of it. (Add sugar, I usually don't do it) Then heat the water and remove without boiling it. Add a rounded teaspoon of coffee (or two it depends on your taste). Stir the ingredients with a teaspoon, the mixture has to be homegeneous. After the foam rise upwards remove the cezve from the heat. Let it calm down for a while(about 10s) Put one teaspoon of the foam into cup.Then heat it again for the second rise of foam.

@SlowRain Don't boil it. Remove and let it calm down. Pour the #coffee into the cup slowly. Drink it when grounds settle down.

@MiaG I think I had always destroyed the foam by accidentally boiling it before. I'm trying to be more careful now.

Preheating the water like that seems like a good idea to shorten the total brew time. It should make it less bitter, too.
