That IT moment when you use the keyboard & mouse on one Linux laptop to control another that is connected to your Windows work PC by Chrome Remote Desktop, which in turn is connected to a Remote Desktop on a server, in order to check out a Jet Reports question.

@mintspider The other day hometown canada I used my phone to email myself with subject reversessh from a cafe, so my at home pc's thunderbird would launch a script, so I could use JuiceSSH on my tablet to login to a VPS in Germany, so I could connect back into my home pc through the reverse ssh tunnel tbird had launched, so I could type 'cat /proc/cpuinfo | less', so I could check if my I5 cpu was effected by remote control flaw (it wasn't). :-) ck out kde connect 4 more synergy fun
@gemlog Now *that* is impressive!!!!
@mintspider If you use KDE plasma desktop I know you would enjoy the utility of KDE Connect. Use your android tablet and phone as a remote, send tabs to your pc browser, slop files around -- very useful. http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2017/01/kde-connect-indicator-ubuntu I'm using mint, but w/e...
@gemlog Have heard of KDE Connect, and watched videos on it. However, I it has been about 9 years since I used KDE. These days I use Solus Budgie. Although I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, I hardly ever use it as a remote (except for Roku!).
@mintspider I did checkout solus recently actually. Thing is I'm quite addicted to Kio-slaves. Also inertia: I've been using kde since its first version pretty much. I check things out, but only ever seem to flirt with other DE's. I tried some simultaneously years ago using (I think) xnest. I'll look... Yep: https://box.matto.nl/xnest.html They were in my taskbar, but I don't remember the details now.
@gemlog I was a Mint user (mostly Xfce or Mate) for 8 years until very recently, but did distro hop on 2nd devices.
@mintspider I too have left a long trail of abandoned distros over the years!
@gemlog What is your current Distro?
@mintspider the latest kde flavour of mint: https://www.linuxmint.com/rel_sarah_kde_whatsnew.php I wouldn't have bothered so soon, but I lost my / and /home SSD AND a spinny rust drive both within 24 hours... I had more backups, but still.
@gemlog Ouch!! This is why I backup and often make images with Clonezilla.
@mintspider I use an rsync script I wrote years ago. I have two local backups and two remote. I'm a b/u freak :-) I started with this idea originally (apple has since co-opted it too) http://www.mikerubel.org/computers/rsync_snapshots/ but I always credit him with the idea of using hardlinks to create a sort of time machine.
