Three possibilities : a lot of mefites have blocked me (cool if you did! It's a free federation), outdoor have migrated to be accounts, or Mastodon has experienced some user decay. (could also be a tasty blend of all three.)

@going_to_maine I'm still here...but mostly posting on other instances. So point no. 2 could be a big part of it.

No. 3 is probably also pretty common. Everyone gets excited about The Next Big Thing™. Then, after a bit, many people drop off and go back to whatever they were doing before.

@ink_slinger @going_to_maine Hear, hear. Normal ebb after the hype + .network being down means some people moved (or moved on). Even in my most active IRC channels and G+ circles I post only when I have something worthwhile and .network was down when last I had event pictures and things to share.

@dubovsky @going_to_maine Yeah, .network being down didn't help, though I'd sort of moved on to other instances before that happened.

I mostly use this instance for posting #meta stuff and I have less to say about the topic of Mastodon itself these days.

@dubovsky @going_to_maine @ink_slinger I find it frustrating, people moving to other instances? Like, send a change of address card!
