The lead partner of our office stopped by my office this morning to say that he, and the entire office, appreciate all that I do. That I'm doing a great job and he told our office manager about it because he wants word of it to get out.

That made my day. All too often, I wonder if I'm actually helping or if I'm doing even an adequate job. I'm not resting on my laurels, but that certainly made me feel much better.

@beare That's awesome!

Compliments, in general, seem to be a thing that's few and far between these days.

@Supernova Agreed! It's just even better when it comes from the head person. Being that this is a new career for me, I'm overly concerned about making sure I do a great job.

@beare Oh for sure! Sounds like you're off to a good start, too!

I'm trying to recall the last time something like that ever happened to me. That said, I've worked for a small company for quite a while now, and there are much closer interactions between the top dogs and the employees, so maybe that negates it somewhat.

I'll take my continued employment as compliment enough for now! 😆

@Supernova LoL right? I think that is the ultimate compliment.

The firm I work for is large, but the offices are self contained in some ways. Ours is small, but growing. But given that they are lawyers, it's rare that I have one on one interaction because they are out or just super busy.

@beare Totally agree - the fact that you make a such an impact even though they're hardly around really speaks volumes!
@Supernova This is a good point. I've certainly tried to make myself available to make sure they're good to go!
