@bea Front dev was pretty much all I did 2010-2015. I only recently got back into back-end stuff after years away.

@bea As for this! I will see if this is possible. I want to avoid things like Tumblr's "you've got a notifications but PSYCH you totally don't because you've blocked some keywords" or Twitter's "You don't have any notifications EXCEPT ALL OF THEM".
@bea Also important to me to make this optional; I've seen some people laud the fact that there ISN'T a badge to tell you that you have new notifications so you don't feel obliged to swap back and forth all the time.
@noelle excellent points! love the idea of it being optional. definitely comment on the issue if/when you feel up to it. even if you don't implement your feedback would be helpful and that is where it belongs
