how many layers of nostalgia/anti-nostalgia is this???
!!!! only 90s kids will reme https://mastodon.social/media/VXFTZ7hcscyDEehIvUU
ah yeah im nostalgic for that time i first watched 'buddy holly' by weezer on Google Video back in 2007 because it made me nostalgic for when i saw 'buddy holly' by weezer when it was included on the Windows 95 install CD in the 1990s, which really made me nostalgic for the Happy Days TV show from the 1970s, which really made me nostalgic for the 1950s,
@jk idk why but your post reminded me of the videos of Rachel and Chandler from Friends learning about Windows, which I didn't see until ages after and are really odd. (possibly nostalgia and Windows)
@bentosmile oh yeah! i remember these! .... from 2011 when i saw them on youtube

@jk you lost me after 1990.

I remember finding it in the media folder of Windows, I think it's the first music video I watched on a computer, and it was awesome. 😊

Still one of my favorite songs.

@jk that's a shitload of nostalgia....

@jk I must have missed out on this video because my family had Win95 only on floppy disks.

My computer music nostalgia is mostly late 80s/early 90s demoscene. So I get a bit of reverse nostalgia from hearing the original version of pop songs and realizing the MOD was a cover/remix.

@giltay yeah, like all those Art of Noise mods. or 4mat's very accurate version of Zoolook
@jk Oh gosh, I didn't even know about that one. I guess I need to sit down with my MOD collection and start Googling titles.
@jk All of these things are still going to be under copyright when you die and we're probably going to expand the concept of derivative work to make it so you owe all of them money for tooting about it. #GutPunchNostalgiaWithReality.
...
free hugs are still available tho.
@jk wait until they find out DVDs an Blu-Rays do the same thing, and there was a point when Warner made them *unskippable* (see also: the Sherlock movie's release)
@jk Todays generation will never know having to rewind the video BEFORE returning it to block buster.
Be Kind, Rewind
@lnxw48a1 taking me back in time. I'll have to explain this concept to my kids someday.
@stitchxd @jk did anyone else grow up with a "rewinder"
We had this separate device that ran on AA batteries and it just rewinded VHS tapes I guess theoretically faster? I don't think it was really that much faster but I remember the sound it made really clearly and the "clunk" when it finished

@jk "never personally owned a VHS"....

😱

@lilletale its fucked up. theres people on here who you can talk you, and they seem normal, and kinda cool, and then theyre like "yeah i was born after 9/11" ??????????????????
@jk Youth nowadays, eh?

@jk never thought that much about the show itself, was more impressed by the jukebox in the titles 😁

(they were still around when I grew up in the 80s but most had hidden vinyl playing mechanism)

@jk
Monday mornin' feels so bad
Ev'rybody seems to nag me
Comin' Tuesday I feel better
Even my old man looks good
Wed'sday just don't go
Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind
@jk so many classic songs based on the capitalist work week *sigh*

@jk Oh no you *didn't*!

Lol
