So I am new to this, every time I want to join an instance do I have to make a new account?

@rastacalavera yes however if you know someone outside of our instance you can message them directly and vice versa... because our server is federated and talks to the mastodon "cloud"

@Naelr Ah I see now but if there is someone who is not on our instance that I want to follow wouldn't it be hard to locate them if they didn't make their user name known?

@rastacalavera no you can find them on the federated timeline... and just click the star under their name I believe... I am not an expert in fact very new myself
