Naelr@rastacalavera yes however if you know someone outside of our instance you can message them directly and vice versa... because our server is federated and talks to the mastodon "cloud"
@Naelr Ah I see now but if there is someone who is not on our instance that I want to follow wouldn't it be hard to locate them if they didn't make their user name known?
@rastacalavera no you can find them on the federated timeline... and just click the star under their name I believe... I am not an expert in fact very new myself
@rastacalavera infact looking at one now and when you click their name you see their entire mastodon name.. @name@instance
@rastacalavera sorry hit toot before i should.. .then in the upper left you click the little plus... and your following them ... well on the full page don't know about any phone apps or browsing on the phone... I like a screen and keyboard! :D
