Interestingly I discovered it by following a link about a comic about amazons.
Petra@Euphoria Comixology has actually been around for a really long time - 10 years, perhaps (?), but they were acquired by Amazon 2 or 3 years ago.

I suppose it's just a matter of time before Amazon takes over the world. Of course they've got some competition. It'll be interesting to see how it develops.
@Euphoria As someone who abhors capitalism/monopolies, I feel like I should be annoyed at Amazon swallowing everything up, but I really love Amazon so I can't seem to muster any outrage. 😞
@Petra I can't say that I love them anymore, but it's very, very convenient, so hard not to use. I actually found it a friendlier shopping experience when they had less stuff, and it all came directly from them. Ah well. Progress.
