Time to compile a Minetest server from source. On a BananaPi. ...this is gonna take a while. #justcppthings #justarmthings #sitaroundandwait
@kzimmermann Like you wouldn't believe. That BPi is an active microserver, which means I can only commit *one* core. One *A20* core. Yeah...
@koz the !BananaPi has a dual core cpu, hasn't it? :-)
@mcscx @koz The BananaPi is nice! Have you tried RaspberryPi?
@stitchxd @mcscx I think the BPi is better as a microserver. The fact it needs less blobware (or did when I got it) is also a plus. #libre
@koz @mcscx What do you mean "Blobware"? Like Drivers?
@stitchxd @mcscx Firmware or drivers that we don't have source code for, or can't change for some other reason (e.g. signing).
@koz @mcscx Isn't the Pi Open source hardware? Wouldn't that include drivers....?
@stitchxd @mcscx It's about as 'open source' as the average bit of openwashing. It couldn't even *boot* without blobware until recently.
@koz @mcscx The bootloader for the pi has been open source for years now though.. So I don't really understand what you mean? Maybe I am confusing this with something else - can you cite the source for that statement?
@stitchxd @mcscx Of some relevance also (though out-of-date now): https://www.fsf.org/resources/hw/single-board-computers
