More than 500 MB consumed in less than 2 full days without having downloaded any programs and having the neighbors' WiFi to use part of the time.
There's got to be a better way to have Internet--it sure would be nice if sites would be more data conscious instead of feeding us more & more useless, distracting crap that eats our data allowance!

Of course, I /was/ streaming music for several hours this morning. Well worth it, but the plan I bought was meant to (according to the provider) last for 10 days.
@Euphoria I have 24kbps favourite stream for such occasions. Saving bandwidth, quality actually almost the same.
@saper Wow, that's amazing. For some reason if I download audio or video before listening to it or watching it it generally downloads fairly quickly, isn't cost prohibitive in terms of data usage, and I can listen to it over and over again. I'm not sure why this is true, but it seems to be /when/ I'm able to download it first.
@Euphoria I don't know where you stream from but youtube-dl does an excellent job for almost everything
Thank you, @saper
I stream from all over the place, depending on what's streaming, though I try not to stream at all from home unless I'm receiving my neighbors' WiFi, which is very intermittent, but still an option sometimes. My own fixed connection is not available, or I'd already have it. Thank you about letting me know about that YouTube site. I will try it instead of the main one with the big overhead.
@Euphoria ah so you are streaming *OUT* not "in"
@saper No, only in. I spend too much time lately reading Toots, Tweets, Shares & responding, as well as some articles & sharing other thoughts & experiences while spending too little time on a story I'm writing (which is great when my connection is out!) and hope to soon be collaborating on a non-violent video game. One day I may have something to stream out.
