if I can even get 10% of the thousands of hits I've gotten over the past months to buy the fking book when I'm done.. I could probably afford to update my server environment.
Would be bitchin to have an R710 with 8-10 cores and 64GB of ram. HNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG
@da_667 Go for an R720, quieter and cooler (i.e. they won't warm a 10x12 room appreciably the way an R710 does). Ask my office mate how I know.

@da_667

sorry i am ignorant, tell me the title of book pls

@thedevilsvoice The AVATAR project

Architecting Virtual Labs
@da_667 do you ever use terraform
@thedevilsvoice
not yet. My last experience from hashicorp was packer/vagrant for making a metasploitable 3 VM.
@thedevilsvoice Let me tell you, I spent a whole fucking day trying to get Vagrant and packet to make the VM and midway through it was inexplicably stop working with a complete lack of errors from the stack trace that were valuable..
@thedevilsvoice /or/ It would randomly go to pick up a packer... package? fail, the script would continue and it'd be like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
@da_667 @thedevilsvoice packer certainly had its share of issues in early days, I've been using it with great success building vagrant/vmware RHEL and Windows boxes for $employer. Hit me up with questions if you try again! :)
@da_667
A noble purpose.
I will surely shill it given the occasion.
Are you planning on publishing a printed/print-friendly version too?
'cause it will definitely have a place in the "hands-on fundamentals" shelf.
@sir_tappo Eventually (tm). I think amazon lets you do print copies.
@da_667 sorry if you have been asked this before but have you thought at all about making the lab more dynamic (I.e. Resources are spun up on request as needed) i ask because I have a pending patent on a fully dynamic malware incubation network that does just that. I've been kicking around the idea of open sourcing it but would be happy to talk with you more about it and helping make it an option in your project if you were interested. Let me know!
