Remember, #FOSS and open source is built by #people. Sometimes companies too, but in Mastodon's case, by people doing it in their spare time. So... "Be excellent to each other".

And while "patches welcome" might seem rude when you ask for feature X, fix bug Y, or whatever, that's how it works.

Complaining that Eugen should do something is like complaining to a random stranger at a bus stop they should paint the bench - a specific color.

@ShaneCurcuru I wouldn't attach myself to your argument here. Eugen is getting paid to work on Mastodon and it is his job to do stuff that users want. It's not yelling at a random stranger. But it should be like, recognized that he only has so much capacity as a single person.

Criticizing the software and identifying needs is important work. FOSS changes the format and nature of how that can work to be better for everyone.
