"Name aside (seriously, an extinct animal?)"

why does everyone bring this up
are brand-sensitive people really that superficial

@typhlosion also basically every tech thing has a terrible name if you pretend you're not already familiar with it, come on

(I think it's as good a name as any and well better than most fwiw)

@kelspace as i joked about in another post:

"microsoft"? who came up with that name? that sounds like something i'd need to take a pill for

@typhlosion if I had to do open mic standup under duress I'd just have people shout tech brands at me and I'd roast them, it would be so easy
@kelspace that sounds incredible, i would watch that
@typhlosion maybe if it was missing a vowel or two. or all the vowels. 'mstdn' might be "cool" enough for them. o_o (I hate myself for putting cool in quotes but it needed to be done)
@bentosmile @typhlosion mstdn is one letter away from MSDN, which'd probably upset microsoft a bit
@colon_three @typhlosion XD I'm just satirising the dropping vowels being trendy haha, I prefer the vowels there~
@typhlosion do people really think it's weird?? Honestly I think it's a pretty good name, has decent mouth feel
