How are y'all balancing Twitter & Mastadon? Are you cross-posting? Or have you given up your Twitter feed? I am finding it hard to bounce between two networks that are (at least on the front face) so similar.

Tips?

Advice?

@jer my twitter followers are a pretty different mix than who i'm talking to on Mastodon. I haven't cross-posted yet, and don't see it coming anytime soon.

It's much more fun watching the instance and federated timelines in here and grabbing onto random thoughts from others. That's something I never do on Twitter.

@jer @ino I second that. Indeed the fun thing around here is making new friends, talking with strangers, inviting oneself in conversations. I believe twitter was like that at the beginning.
@jer I ditched Twitter and hopefully all the good people from there will end up here. Due to twitter 140 chars limit, I don't plan on cross-posting. I also believe the culture on twitter and here is quite different at the moment.
@jer I post more on mastodon and get lost in the delusion my followers will discover "unseen bonus content" once they've found their way from Twitter, FB to my Mastodon profile.
@jer I read and post to twitter on the even hours and read and post to mastodon on the odd ones 🙃

@jer i tend to use this for more personal things. i don't have a personal twitter, but this is for longer form conversations but also for less noise.
though, i am finding it really hard to bounce between two places.

mainly im here bc @prometheanwatch is and she was taking a facebook break. and i got a few people pinging me to come over here.
