Only 2 weeks until I'm taking out my tent, primus stove, books, and start using some of my weekends in the forest or mountains to get away from the urban life a bit, and feel the fresh air and clearing mind by living in nature for a night or two at a time!
@lrshdl that's a passion of mine. Like to hike every weekend or when I have time, and sleep out under the stars with no soul near me for miles 😁
@Obi That sounds perfect! I fully understand the passion. I'll try to get out more this year than last year myself, and explore places I haven't hiked yet.
@lrshdl that's the way to go. I have a lot of final destinations I like to camp at, but try to take different trails to get there as much as I can. Good to mix it up. I'm not like most tho, I never go with a plan. I get in my car and drive to either a national forrest or the state park near by and just kind of decide what trail to hit last second. A lot of fun that way.
@Obi I like the way you think. It is how to get the most from it. The biggest problem for me is usually time to get out. In Norway it is in many cases 20h+ daily darkness from october to march, so basically the rest of the year I use for hiking/camping, and try to use as best as I can :) I'll try to use your approach on my next multiday hike :)
@lrshdl I hope someday to experience the beauty of Norway, but hopefully not in that 20hrs of darkness a day season 🤣. In the meantime, your toot has inspired me to get for a few hrs, who knows where 😃 https://goo.gl/photos/Ras3aYn8VdryrgYR9
@Obi You will be welcome here :) I've been a few hours out today, so relaxing on the schedual for now. Your backback looks awesome! :D If you want good hiking/camping areas and dramatic and stunning nature in Norway, set your course for the northern parts of Norway :) This is a photo from an area called "Helgeland" — https://res-1.cloudinary.com/simpleview/image/upload/c_fill,f_auto,q_65,w_768/v1/clients/norway/Helgeland-hiking-Rodoy-Noway_66f5f12b-6304-41f3-9fe2-fbce1e086f27.jpg
@lrshdl unfortunately I never get views like that in my area. most everything is dense Forrest, which is beautiful in a different way. Our only hope for views is hiking towards lakes. I really want to go to Norway now after seeing that photo
@Obi For me, large forests and plains sound exotic since I've grown up and lived within fjords and mountains all my life :) Hopefully I get to go hiking in such places some times down the road.
