@Michael_Spencer Here's my #introduction. I'm a TV news guy who plays with new tech when I can get my hands on it. I've never really connected with twitter because it's like drinking from a fire hose. I like the 500 character limit and the more conversational feel from #mastodon.

@Michael_Spencer I'm not seeing a huge amount of traffic - but I'm new to this instance and maybe the federated timeline isn't showing everything out there.

@dckev When I chose an instance, I went for the most popular one, but even in a few hours it seems all that has shifted a great deal. But I suspect you are right...
