@Enkerli Thanks! I am not very familiar with the work of Matt Ratto, I will look into it in more detail, thanks. The practice of Critical Making is, for me, associated to the name of Garnet Hertz and others. In any case we live at a time in which it no longer makes sense to prototype, develop or adopt technology without any critical discernment, so I consider it essential to expose younger generations to these views.

@zilog Fully agreed! There's a fair amount of hype in the Maker scene, lot of enthusiasm. But relatively few people take a step back and really delve through issues of #TechnologicalAppropriation or really distill any insight from observing and participating in these practices.
You were talking about building bridges. Wishing my role to be similar. Been working with the nonprofit which founded the first #FabLab in Canada. Now trying to connect #Makers in diverse places.

@zilog Also, don't know if he'll be tooting any time soon, but my colleague Bart Simon at Concordia is doing fascinating work at Milieux. He hosted a Banzi talk at ConU, not too long ago, and been surrounding himself with interesting people.

@Enkerli Milieux seems like an interesting place. My colleague Chris Salter told me about it, but I haven't yet visited. Can't wait to have an excuse to go.

@Enkerli no birdsite for me. I'm quitting sugar and the birdsite, both at the same time, cold-turkey. :) No relapsing just yet.

@zilog Wonder which one is harder. Did spend a few months without sugar but not that much time without the bird, since 2007.
