Teacher #ChamplainSL asking the #StudentPanel: “What can we do to help?” Not only are the answers insightful about #TechnologicalAppropriation, the very question is a sign of care. #StudentSuccessFTW

@h Yeah, what was on my mind was a jobtalk THP gave at IU when I was there. Probably 1999.

Good point about independent/home studios. Reminds me of British musician/producer/podcaster Jamie Lidell, living in Nashville… where bylaws made/make home studios illegal. Somehow, HOWA (Hanging Out with Audiophiles) is part of my own fieldwork on #TechnologicalAppropriation through #Sound.

After a long hiatus, I’m thinking of coming back to this platform in order to have thoughtful and respectful conversations about heady topics, mostly related to #Musicking, #TechnologicalAppropriation, and #DesignThinking.
Telling my partner about this, getting more insight into a shift happening, at least in my own experience. From excitement about (future, commercial) products, been getting increasingly excited by the process of creating some of my own technology. So, #TechnologicalAppropriation, DIY, #MakerCulture, and all that.
All sorts of neat possibilities. The future is diverse.

My other profile (@Enkerli) is arts-focused, especially #DigitalMusicking.

@zilog Fully agreed! There's a fair amount of hype in the Maker scene, lot of enthusiasm. But relatively few people take a step back and really delve through issues of #TechnologicalAppropriation or really distill any insight from observing and participating in these practices.
You were talking about building bridges. Wishing my role to be similar. Been working with the nonprofit which founded the first #FabLab in Canada. Now trying to connect #Makers in diverse places.
