I've always had a bit of a hands off stance towards social media. I tend to lurk rather than interact.

Mastodon feels strange to me because my dipping of a toe into the stream actually results in feedback. More used to speaking into the void. Part of the newness of the system, I think, plus matters of scale.

@qubeslayer It's got a more 90s cyberpunk feel as well. Feels natural to use an anonymous(ish ) account, which I like.

If there's five people around you, you need to acknowledge all of them. If there's 100, you ignore everyone except the person standing next to you.
