Mastodon Exclusive:
Today I tried laser engraving some custom dice. I'm pretty happy with how they came out!

@katjapurrs Where did you do it/how much did it cost?

@Gargoylezoo I did it in my laser cutter, right next to where I'm sitting.

The blank dice were something like $20/100

I got the artwork from http://game-icons.net

Laser cutter was like $2500.

I'm thinking about making custom dice for people as a side thing.

@katjapurrs I would definitely be interested! Can you do more complex dice like d12s and does?
@Gargoylezoo I would have to find a source for blank d12s. Right now I only have 16mm D6 dice in white, blue, red, green, yellow and black. The white ones it's possible to paint the engraved part with a paint pen and wipe the excess off on a sheet of paper. I'm going to try that soon. Have to get some paint pens from the hardware store :)
@katjapurrs @Gargoylezoo Nail polish makes great "paint". There are sometimes great deals on close outs, overstocks & kits.
@Euphoria That's a good point. I was planning on heading over to the art store today to get an oil paint pen to try out.
@katjapurrs They look great! Intended for a game?
@mfgaede One of them is to help decide what game to play. The other was just a farm themed one, because theme!
