@LanceUlanoff This _is_ a problem, but one I think can be solved, and not the way Twitter does it. One advantage of a network of small instances is that you don't have the scale issues around moderation that Twitter does. An active admin can boot fraudulent users easily. Instances full of assholes can be blocked from federating.
@LanceUlanoff You mean, not official, or verified. Fake, no it is not. Now, it would be cool to keep with the decentralized nature of Mastodon, to use some sort of blockchain to verify people.
