Henri@yetanotherjess @Gargron That's just purposely avoiding an inherent flaw in the current design. If you're suggesting I (and others) start ignoring long posts, what's the point in letting people make them in the first place? It'd directly impact overall engagement.
inmysocks Of Doom, Naked KSC@pixhammer @Gargron @yetanotherjess The point of this as opposed to centralised systems is that people can define how they want to use it. It doesn't matter if you decide to ignore long posts because you can just use it however you want and so can anyone else.
@inmysocks @Gargron @yetanotherjess I get the use of it being decentralized and i'm all for it, but encouraging disparity in how people use the platform just means people will naturally sway towards the path of least resistance. If that involves skipping long posts then there's no reason for them to exist. Encouraging them in the design however, can make it possible for a dichotomy of short dense posts and larger posts to work. Besides, it would make the platform stand out from the others well.
