And y'know, Librivox actually sounds like something I'd REALLY love. I just need to buy a compressor before-hand.

If I get REALLY expressive (which I know I will) my volume will be painstaking to fix in post, especially if I'm spending hours and hours recording a full audiobook.

Do you know the limitations on the kinds of books I can record?

@BNolet you can take up any kind of book you like, provided it is in the public domain.

You should check the wiki articles on contributing/recording/proof listening.

I don't think any _uses_ a compressor (alteast I think so, I could be wrong)

Audacity can take care of the static noises ect.
(There can some forum plugins to extend audacity as well.)
