Matt Schneider@elikaortega not sure if you've read much about how the instances work, but it's worth noting that the TOS is instance-specific and doesn't apply across instances. So right now, for example, my existence is contingent upon @muffinista's whims
@mattlaschneider @muffinista Right, interesting! I guess that can really mean an alternative model, but adds quite a bit of complexity.
@elikaortega yeah, I'm curious how it'll pan out. Cross-community/instance communications may get tricky, but it also encourages certain instances to cultivate more insular communities that could well cut down on harassment significantly
@mattlaschneider yes! That's what I was thinking too: less harassment and maybe more control about personal data collection.
@elikaortega it'll be interesting to see whether cross-instance interactions remain the norm or whether an influx of users will lead to balkanisation
