@sixbitproxywax The point of this network is federation, if you put all eggs in one basket (this instance) that's no good.
@Gargron I'm not following why that is the case. From the perspective of cultural, social, etc issues, federation is clearly beneficial, but if mastodon.xyz is essentially a clone of Mastodon.social, then why is putting eggs in two baskets important?
I'm just not sure how we can convince people to not use this instance if the only argument is "because"
