Does anyone else feel guilty or weird about spending the majority of their time doing things IRL and neglecting their virtual life and friends?
@Euphoria
Very occasionally. I used to feel that quite a bit, though.

@timrowe

I guess we're meant to, which is why one sees so many people immersed in their devices instead of paying attention to the people and things in their immediate surroundings.

@Euphoria @timrowe

The virtual streams flow by while I am "away". It can be difficult to accept the resulting gaps.

When I look at things virtual as just a part of my "real day", the gaps are less evident.

I cannot read while I drive and I enjoy changing focus, putting down my book when I talk with my family.

I try to see the computer/smartphone in the same way.

I don't multitask well, I guess.

@Algot

Modern research seems to be saying that no one's really a good multi-tasker, though some people certainly appear to be.

You seem like a well balanced individual.

@Euphoria

Being balanced has always been one of my goals.

Though, I've never tried to walk a tightrope, and never will.
