#STS

On my way in to the conference, came upon an incredible library, the most interdisciplinary I've ever seen.
Books on semiconductor theory next to histories of feminism next to feminist architecture next to accounts of bad science next to genetics

This is incredible, and right across the street from where I spent most of my first undergrad, and I never knew

There is such a desperate need for interdisciplinary interaction; 10mins browsing this bookshelf and I see books from field A discussing solutions to problems space B has deemed unsolvable, over and over and over

Don't throw out 90% of mankind's tools just cause you like certain styles of math.

If you just want to push your fav tool as far as it can go, fine.
But if you claim to be about solving the problems you focus on, you are gonna have to be tool-agnostic, even if it means a full stack developer on a social networking site reading about feminist critiques of oppressive architectural design norms.
