I don't know about most folks, but I've fantasized about my death on at least a weekly if not daily basis for at least 3 decades now. It doesn't mean I plan to do it, and I really suspect it's not all that uncommon. As an atheist, death holds no special fear, just wistfulness at not getting to find out what happens in future, and a sort of relief at not having to worry about everything I worry about while alive.
