Madison has a new bike path, the Tancho Drive Path. It's at the very edge of town and only half a mile long. But it opens up some new low-stress connections. Join https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-TN7yEEi_g

Tancho Drive Path: A new bike connection between Madison and Sun Prairie

YouTube
@haraldkliems one thing I haven't seen anywhere in discussions about this is: coming from Madison, if you don't already live or work in that UW Health, Alliant, etc. complex between 90 and 151.... how the hell do you get to the southern end of this new path?
The least-stress way I know to Sun Prairie (Sun Prairie Loop via High Crossing Blvd) bypasses this path. The other way in my mind would be Portage Road which in my experience is higher stress (especially on that final almost-no-shoulder 40mph section) than high crossing.
Is it just meant as a first step towards getting a better connection to that complex underneath/over 90?
@eyesinthefire Your diagnosis is spot on. I-90 is a major barrier in the area. The bad part of Portage Road is in the Town of Burke, and so improvements are unlikely to happen soon. High Crossing Blvd at least is in Madison, but I don't think there are any plans for improving that. So yeah, the path is just a small piece in the large puzzle.
