@NebulaTide The developments that have been ongoing for a few years are becoming more and more concerning, and I really don’t like it at all. I mean, that people(ploticians etc.) would go so far as to want to read our most private messages—for example, from Signal or similar apps—is unbelievable, and it seems like nobody gets it. There are currently a thousand things happening at once… :/ I started my journey of advocacy a long time ago, and honestly, I never really imagined that all of my worst fears would come true, little by little…
Three years ago, people even joked about my concerns, going so far as to say—jokingly—that I might be paranoid, which might be true. Still, it doesn’t change the facts… 🤷

I’m trying to create awareness wherever possible. Posting here is preaching to the choir but it’s also difficult to reach people outside because many are just ignorant. You don’t notice surveillance. It doesn’t hurt until they get after you. And most people think: Hey I’m not doing anything illegal and I don’t have anything to hide. So why should I bother?
I’ve been preaching to so many people during the last years, telling them to use Signal instead of WhatsApp, use a safe email provider instead of GMX but it feels like Sisyphean work. Even in small groups of five where two people already have installed signal, it was impossible to convince the rest to follow. There is absolutely no awareness.
