I just got an email from Petosa Accordions saying they are moving to Cashmere Washington. They were in Seattle for 96 years and have been in Lynnwood (just North of Seattle) for the past 8 years. They are the only place at all close to me for repairs, so any work I need done in the future will require a long drive. Costs are high for businesses around Seattle. Also Cashmere is close to Leavenworth, a Bavarian themed tourist town that is no stranger to accordion music.

@btrinen Bummer, was planning to take my wife’s two accordians to them, one is a Petosa, the other an older one. Hope to still though.
@GPJohnston The email says they are still accepting most repairs in Lynnwood until July 11th.
@btrinen Guess I need to get there lickety split. Will call em tommorow.

@GPJohnston @btrinen
Leavenworth (2 1/2 hour drive up a mountain range) is a much longer trip than hopping over when I visit my mom in Edmonds (4 miles/6 k)

People will come during the Leavenworth festival, but maybe they do most of their business by mail these days 🤷🏻‍♂️

Anywhere near Seattle/Edmonds must cost a ton for minimal foot traffic

Almost all of the last big-city #accordion shops have moved out of town

Trying to keep the doors open while they still have doors

Was pleased to notice this in the small print of the email from #Petosa

So folks may still be able to get an #Accordion looked at in the #seattle area ❤️‍🔥🪗

“A Presence in Edmonds will be Maintained:We will have a location set up to maintain local service and rental needs”

😊@GPJohnston @btrinen

@AccordionBruce @GPJohnston I missed that somehow. Good news!
