So the app for my home PV/battery got an update. It removed the option to overlay or stat imports from grid.

How I hate how proprietary apps provide updates with zero information on changes. That would never happen in #FOSS world.

I have disconnected my battery from the internet. While the real-time data is nice, I prefer a system that doesn't get enshittified by an update. This is exactly what "smart" applications are all about, and with cyberspace everting, enshittification has extented to the real world.

Had it offline for years. That meant I saw *nothing* of what the PV was doing. So eventually I caved and unblocked the inverter's MAC address in my LAN firewall and got their app.
