My new-to-me Braille display (which I will post more about soon, I am very excited about it) has maybe the most satisfying charging animation of any device I’ve used. It feels very pleasant and makes a nice noise. #braille
The file transfer progress is also very satisfying. #braille

@sen

For some reason I want to pet it.

@jztusk My cat felt the same, this photo is a few years old but he also wanted to pet it :)
@sen Wow, which model did you get? Inquiring minds and all that jazz.

@pawpower It's a Help Tech Actilino, I've wanted to try a display with ATC auto-advance for years and this one came available.

I've never had a small display like this so I'm curious how I'll like it! I mostly use displays to read books since I can get away with magnification/zoom for shorter tasks, so I suspect the small size might frustrate me. But I want to get more comfortable using one connected to my phone so that was part of my goal as well.

It sure is an adjustment after 11 years with a 32-cell BrailleNote Apex, though! (and a similar MPower for many years prior to that)

@sen Oh that is a nice display! Doesn't the braille auto-refresh when you get to the end of the line? How is that working for you? I hope you enjoy using it. Yes the small size for long reading can be frustrating. I read on either 32 or 40 cells at home if I can help it, especially if it's things like close captions which auto-refresh at the rate of spoken dialogue.
@sen wait, the alt text says .... Blue and black? Wtf?
@nyx yes? Im not sure what part isn’t clear, sorry
@sen isn't it like brown-ish yellow?
@nyx no, I had most of the lights off already since I didn’t need them, so my camera maybe picked things up weird? It’s blue and black with white dots.
@sen @nyx Dim lighting affects photos quite a bit depending on the camera, yeah. It looked like a much darker shade of blue in the video (similar to the mastodon dark theme), but I could still tell that the actual braille cells were white dots on a curved black surface, they just happened to be in dim yellow-ish lighting.
@sen oh wow... Now I see the blue-black
