@VeroniqueB99 even little tiny Dominica (not the DR, the little one) has universal healthcare.
@VeroniqueB99 how does it compare to it though honestly like in service and timing, quality etc i am curious
@colombiaorc In terms of quality of healthcare it's western medicine, it's all the same... after that...πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
@VeroniqueB99 @colombiaorc
Wrong!
In the US, healthcare is overpriced and underperforms.
If you're rich, you get the best healthcare, if you're not, good luck to you.
The UK has *some* issues with waiting times, for some afflictions, but they've been cutting costs for decades.
Here in the Netherlands, some hospitals have waiting times for some procedures. Most insurers have a service where they will ask you whether you're willing to travel up to *20 minutes* further to be helped immediately.
@MennoWolff @colombiaorc Yeah... there are subtle differences in service, I was talking about the actual medicine. Which is the same. Access otoh is a different story. And the US bases 100% of everything on $$$.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
@VeroniqueB99 @colombiaorc
Right. I thought he were arguing that there's hardly any difference in effectiveness between the US and the rest. In some countries people have to wait for some procedures, making them uncomfortable. In the US, people die while waiting for approval from the insurance.
Here's the infamous graph showing the ineffectiveness of healthcare in the US.
Things started going south in the 70's
@VeroniqueB99 @colombiaorc
Sorry. It's really the '80s when it got shittier. It was Reagan.
@VeroniqueB99 Add Canada, which is also hosting, to the universal-healthcare list 😁
@VeroniqueB99 2/3 of the host countries dont have universal healthcare
@VeroniqueB99 "instead" not "before"
@smellsofbikes That's what I was thinking too.πŸ‘
@VeroniqueB99 Mexico doesn't have universal healthcare.
@novarivera Oh yes they do.
@VeroniqueB99 no, I'm pretty sure I would know if we had a universal healthcare system seeing as I'm currently getting a degree in Healthcare System management. Mexico has IMSS which ties its low quality healthcare to employment.
@VeroniqueB99 what does GTS mean in this context?
@VeroniqueB99 The billionaires said β€œno” so that means no universal health care for us.

@VeroniqueB99

The US is dependent on a few things to keep their economy going... well making rich people richer at the expense of ordinary people

Constant conflict and war.... the USA needs to be constantly spending money on armaments and promoting strife.... at least it employs people

Sick people... Health care, Medical and Insurance needs the population to be dependent on Insurance ... no insurance you are not of value so you die... hence cutting of free support , injections and vaccines.... the rich can afford it the rest no so much

AI and Tech shifting from.taking money from people to companies.... providing services we can live without....

The US world is not people friendly unless you are already rich

@PGBeattie πŸ‘ yep...and it's going to have to change.
@VeroniqueB99
Well they don’t have a DOW!!!

@bryan @VeroniqueB99

Let alone one that is FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!

@bryan 🀣🀣🀣
@VeroniqueB99 the Klingon have universal healthcare, the KLINGON!
@VeroniqueB99
That’s not a fair comparison.
Those other 47 countries are civilised countries.
@sjaakkeuvelaar πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ‘ fair.
