I might not have agreed with much of what Rachel Reeves did as Chancellor, but at least she had a background in economics.... if (soon to be PM) Andy Burnham *does* appoint Wes Streeting as his Chancellor (as being reported in the FT & elsewhere) then we'll be back to the British cult of amateurism;
Streeting has no background in economics at all, just a degree in history.
So, we can be certain he'll be nobbled by the Treasury pretty quickly & inculcated into the Treasury mindset!
