@thomasfuchs That's what they said about energy when they banned light bulbs and replaced them with ones 10-20 times more expensive.

@blahajj No, but simply forbidding them instead of leaving the choice to the users was a bit of an ass move.
I am not against LED bulbs, but maybe i still want to have both?

The point is doing something wrong/unnecessary/petty for maybe the right reasons, just as the OP indicated.
